Toaru Majutsu no Index PSP is undoubtedly a beautiful-looking game; the release is a somewhat simple and direct 3D combat. There is a large variety of playable characters, ranging from the novel’s hero, Touma, to Accelerator, Mikoto, and even Oriana for the second season. The cast of characters is diverse, and each character has a different approach to battle. With one support character on each side (support characters can be any character, including non-playable characters, the last order, and index) to assist in battle as additional attacks. The battles are one-on-one with heavy and light attacks. Touma uses his fists, Kuroko uses her teleportation skills, and Mikoto can use lightning. Accelerator might feel a bit weak, but the rest feel balanced. The artificial intelligence is challenging, even on the toughest difficulties, requiring overcoming evasion and timing attacks, and occasionally showcasing special skills that don’t always seem as fantastic as they should. The combat system remains real-time. Changing directions during an attack alters the attack, and you can perform combos, but like most licensed-based materials, it’s a shallow game.
Features of Toaru Majutsu No Index for PSP and PPSSPP emulator
The events take place in a futuristic world where magic and esper powers coexist. A battle unfolds between those seeking the Index and those aiming to destroy it. Although Index has ancient and powerful magical texts stored in her mind, she needs defenders by her side to ward off those who come after her. All familiar characters like Touma and Mikoto are present, and there is more to unlock. Explore and push the limits of your power; each character has its element. If you’ve read the novels or watched the anime, you may already have an idea. With this game, you get some practical experience.
As with many fighting games, players choose characters from a lineup and engage in hand-to-hand combat with an opponent. It’s essentially a competitive series of player-versus-player, but the human player can fight a character controlled by artificial intelligence for training or entertainment purposes or to enhance the game’s story.
The game is fully translated into English (English Patched) since the original version is in Japanese.

Toaru Majutsu no Index PSP is a fighting video game based on the world of Toaru Majutsu no Index. It was developed by Shade Inc., published by ASCII Media Works and Kadokawa Games, and released for the handheld gaming console on January 27, 2011. The video game features an original story by the series author, Kamachi Kazuma. The opening theme is “Answer,” performed by Maon Kurosaki.
In the town of Academy City, where its inhabitants study the powers of magic and esper, signs of a certain type of esper power appear about an hour away. The story follows Kamijou Touma, a Level 0 whose only ability is Imagine Breaker, an effect in his right hand that allows him to negate any kind of magic and esper powers, though it brings him extended unhealthy luck. One day, he finds a young nun hanging on the balcony railing. Her name is Index Librorum Prohibitorum (abbreviated as Index), from the European Church, and her mind houses 103,000 volumes of grimoires. Currently, Touma finds himself fighting against pursuers of the Index, consisting of various magicians and espers. This is the main plot of the game. If you’ve watched the anime, the game’s story is a faithful retelling of the plot. The story here mainly refers to most of the small printed illustrations and through screenshots directly taken from the anime, using dialogue to narrate the event. In confirmed elements, you need to fight. These cutscenes represent important dialogue, and since they’re in tiresome Japanese, they’re a complete waste of time for anyone (like me) watching them unless you attempt to consider the events of the anime.
