+N is a game originally created for Adobe Flash operating systems, developed by Metanet Software. The game was developed on Xbox Live Arcade by Slick Entertainment and published by Metanet Software. Unique versions of the game were also separately transferred to PlayStation Portable and Nintendo DS by developers SilverBirch Studios and Atari. Metanet Software licensed NIP for this deal, providing single-player level design for both versions, and collaborated on the project. The PSP portable version was released on August 26, 2008.

N+ is a fun game that performs well in various aspects. The controls are well-tuned, and the response is remarkable. I particularly enjoyed the wall-jumping mechanic, allowing you to skillfully navigate narrow vertical passages with a sense of elegance. +N features a ridiculous number of levels, many of them creatively designed in two dimensions. Little ninja +N must jump, wall-jump, collect gold, and, above all, find an exit on each board. The PSP version offers enhanced graphics compared to the original game, along with new downloadable areas to explore alone or with others.

N+ is still an enjoyable PSP title with plenty of levels and a healthy variety of options. The true beauty of the game comes from the nature of pick-up-and-play (X is jump – that’s all you need to know) available for free via a direct download link. With hundreds of levels for around twenty dollars, it seems like a good deal to me, so I recommend +N for PSP owners looking for some basic platforming action. While I didn’t love it as much as other players, the abundance of content and highly diverse design makes +N an appetizing offering for anyone seeking a gold rush. After all, this is a good game for gaming sessions on the go.

Like an evil blend of Lode Runner and Super Mario Bros., +N is a game of line-drawn platform levels and stick-figure ninja hero. The main goal is to guide the ninja to the exit of each level, but there are also gold blocks to collect, deadly traps to avoid, and sometimes heart keys to switch and open doors. The main way to collect gold, avoid traps, switch keys, and reach exits is through carefully controlled jumps that take advantage of platform layout in each level.
